    What I haven't heard or read in any of the enthusiastic reports of Hodgson's tactical masterclass that resulted in plucky little England getting a heroic draw against the mighty France is that the teams are in the same group because France are lower ranked than England. Capello's record saw England elevated to the top seeding - France should be the ones celebrating a draw.

                        Eamon Dunphy just said that the Irish team have had several chances to have Hodgson as manager over the years. When asked if the FAI should have picked him he said "No - it would have been our biggest mistake"
