Thanjk you.

Trying to pick a good XI out of that is surprisingly hard. Not much width in that squad. Defence is shocking. Vary little variation in the squad.
4-4-2 diamond would seem the best option given the squad, but with that dinosaur in charge it will most likely end up being something he saw working once back in 1976.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I'm a bit surprised wilshere made it, but drinkwater should surely have made the squad for one of the strikers to be dropped considering they could still have had 3 and Rooney. Wilshere is the most talented midfielder and if he can be fit, you have to take the risk considering the other midfield options.
Rashford scoring screwed Hodgson because if he didn't pick him he would have had to deal with the media scrutiny. Now he has 4 strikers AND Rooney and is lacking in the one area of the pitch he needed to deal with... Midfield.
Yup, Wilshere IF he manages to stay fit is not cut out for the deep lying midfield position
I quite like him there as a playmaker - would more or less enforce a diamond and hard working players elsewhere in midfield. My prediction for England's exit would be that we will look ace until an injury makes Hodgson play Wilshere and Rooney in the same midfield and we are eliminated in one of history's least exciting games.
