Ties in with the rumours that Wilshere is ****ed until around November

    Comment

Reported Premier League target Edison Cavani has cooled talk of a summer move by reaffirming his commitment to Napoli.

The Uruguay international, currently representing his country at the London Olympics, is thought to be on the radar of Manchester City and Chelsea, while a host of other European heavyweights are also keen.

But while Cavani has not ruled out a future English move, for now he has pledged his loyalty to the Partenopei.

Cavani told Il Mattino: "The big English clubs want me? I answer: Forza Napoli! (Power Napoli!)

"But it is said that English football is art, why not think about it one day if there is that possibility?"

Speculation linking Cavani with a Premier League move was fuelled this week after the striker's wife was mugged in Naples.

However, the South American says her attacker was not a Napoli supporter, adding: "But it was not a football fan. It is not one of those Neapolitans who, in recent years, have shown me such great affection."

Manchester United have made a check on Ashley Cole’s Chelsea future as they maintain their hunt for a new left-back.

Cole is yet to start talks on a new Blues contract, despite the fact his current deal expires in 12 months.

That alerted United, who have so far refused to meet Everton’s £15million asking price for Leighton Baines.

Too pricey: United want Leighton Baines, but Everton are demanding £15m
        Scott Heavey

But Sunday Mirror Sport understands 31-year-old Cole is set to start the new season at Chelsea and assess his options this time next year if he has still not signed a new contract to keep him at Stamford Bridge.

United are unlikely to wait that long though and could instead resume their chase for Baines or look elsewhere for competition to Patrice Evra.

Sooner Fatrice Evra is out he door the sooner he writes his final big pay day spinning book telling Fergies role in the whole sordid affair.

And if United spend money on a 31 year old to do that, all the more fun.

Good to hear about Cavani not wanting a move just yet. Hopefully we'll be in the CL in a couple of years when he actually wants to leave.

That's obviously what he's waiting for

He'd be worth it if his name was Stefan Fletovic

10 mill for Fletcher is about right imo, 4.5m for Pienaar is just daft from everton

                            Why though?

They do need a marquee signing after all.

                              That's **** all, Kenny and comolli would've bid 25m.

On its own merit its a decent deal......but buying a player back a year after he left for 50% more money after he failed there.

Levy does well to get top dollar for his players......9m for Defoe allegedly too
