No use to us. We need a proper CF, a No.9, someone to lead the line.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yep, Messi would be of no use to us.

I was talking to a (decent) journo last week ...bumped into him at 5-a-side....and he says City are taking this very seriously indeed.

You would, wouldn't you. Staggering how they let Messi get into his final year.

People losing their heads with Can but he's on low wages and is a way off Messi's importance. Losing Messi (on a free) and Neymar in consecutive years would knock Barcelona's prestige a tad. Tighten them.

What do you suggest they should have done?
                  Oh I don't know.

He could easily command £100m+ from City.

He'd be easily worth that as a transfer, he may be ageing but he's still comfortably the best player on the planet.

Sold him last year, I know where you are coming from, slavery, blah, blah.

But we're talking about a player who would have a queue of clubs willing to sign him for north of £200m. Of course as per your stance, he could have refused and that's perfectly fine, but we will never know, he was never offered.

So now there is a prospect of Barcelona losing the GOAT for £0. I think that's staggering.

                          Queue of about 2/3, that's PSG/City money.

And yet selling Messi and Neymar at the same time would not have been acceptable by definition of the word.

Would there be a queue of clubs able to pay £200m? I'm not so sure. PSG jumped through all sorts of dodgy hoops to do it with Neymar. City and United haven't indicated that they have that kind of spending power. Madrid? It would be like Figo all over, but they have been relatively frugal by their standards.

                            Who does that leave?
