These pretty little things that glow up, they're called Smartphones. You can also order a pizza through them and even pay your utility bills.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I see BT have nicked Jake Humphrey from the BBC to front their football coverage.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Rumours in the papers this morning that Lineker was interested in that move, can't see that happening now.

BT certainly looking to make some waves here and put pressure on SKY.

How does one get this channel? Will it be on satellite / cable?

I get ESPN for free as part of the XL Virgin package. If ESPN won't be showing games next season, I think I'll downgrade my package.
                  Oh I don't know.

You have to watch through an over priced BT Vision service. Its basically Freeview, for £4 a month

I would expect them to do a deal with Sky and vice versa as BT vision only get a couple of Sky channels at the moment.

                        In that case, I'm out.

                        Probably.

Be the end of ESPN in the UK this...

BT nabs rights to Serie A, Ligue 1, MLS

BT's upcoming sports channel has secured the broadcast rights to a host of foreign football leagues ahead of its launch next summer.

The centrepiece of the new channel, which has the working name 'BT Sport', is its Premier League coverage, amounting to some 38 games per season.

In a full-on assault of the rights currently held by ESPN, BT also nabbed the rights to Aviva Premiership rugby and has now added coverage of Serie A, Ligue 1 and the MLS to its roster.

The deals allow BT to broadcast all 380 games per season from the top divisions in Italy and France live - a comprehensive first for the UK - as well as 99 games per season from Major League Soccer.

As multiple games kick off simultaneously on matchdays in Italy and France, it is unclear how BT will broadcast all matches live, suggesting that additional channels, an interactive service or online streaming may also be part of the BT Sport service.

In a separate deal, BT Sport has landed 100 live games per season from Campeonato Paulista (Paulista) and Campeonato Brasileiro de Clubes da Serie A.

Mark Watson, CEO of BT TV, said: "We believe this extra depth of live matches will help us in our aim to develop an absolutely cracking sports channel, with fantastic live action, across the top football leagues, plus rugby union and other sports to come. We've hired the best talent behind the camera to bring to viewers the first-rate production that they've come to expect from a sports channel in the UK."

BT's acquisitions leave ESPN with the Bundesliga as the only major European league on its books from next season.

That is going to put the Sky subscription up next year...again.

Not sure how much longer I want to do this, FFS £70 odd quid a month as it is. Absolute rip off.

Is that just for TV, or phone and internet too?

Just for the tv mate. Got the full package and ESPN. TBH even if I get rid of the movies it only save about a fiver a month. The footy is the killer earner for them.
