From my point of view these firms show their true colours when things go wrong. A few months ago I discovered they'd been charging me for programs on their vision service that were included in my package. It's taken them up until now to refund me £80. I cancelled the TV service altogether and the day after my Internet and phone line stopped working. It's only just back on 5 weeks later. They insisted my line was ok and the problem was in my house. Finally it turned out they had cut me off at the cabinet and the exchange. I downloaded the app the other day and the picture quality is good but the sound was a bit disjointed. This morning the broadband has stopped working again and won't be fixed until the 18th due to an "outage". The operator cheerfully told me not to worry as it wasn't just me, it's happened to "everybody". They have a message on their site saying they are having a large volume of calls so waiting times are massive. And when I used their form to complain they said they would reply in 48 hours. I then got another reply saying that due to a high volume of requests (ie complaints) it will take up to 20 days to reply.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostI just signed up with bt broadband so I could get this! from my experience here at work, i'd fully endorse this view. At the point of sale a deal was struck and then 6 months later they're chasing us for £3,000 and no notes were kept at their end. Luckily we had call recording and had them nailed to a mast. But even then it was another 12 months until it was resolved. Pillar to Pillar to Pillar to Post. One of the worst customer services teams in history.Originally posted by fah-q View PostMy experience with BT is that it's great until it breaks and then it's a nightmare to get resolved. They are so big as an organisation that they pass you from pillar to post trying to get an answer and every time they ask you to repeat the problem again.

Well I have the Medium TV package, so its £15 a month extra I understand. Nah I don't value the football served up these days worth the extra outlay. That will be £63 a month to have TV, Telephone, Broadband & BT Sports. I feel like giving the whole lot up.Originally posted by Aj34 View PostBrilliant news that its on virginAlways borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

I've had problems with BT (dropping broadband) and they sorted it out ok. It took a little while and the first attempt failed but that nearly always happens with technology.
You always try first switching something off and switching it back on but it doesn't usually work.
Same idea.
I suspect BT aren't any better or worse than average. I'm sure there's room for improvement but ultimately it's the feeling of powerlessness coupled with total reliance on their services that makes it feel so bloody horrible when it goes wrong, even when the fault's intermittent..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Someone was haivng some building work done down the road. Their truck backed into a BT pole and the wire connected to our house, about 10 doors up, snapped back straight to our house. Just missed a kid riding his bike. It could have been like a scene from Final Destination. Rang BT and they were out within an hour to sort it

Yeah, I'm with talk talk at the moment and they're fine until something goes wrong. I've heard the same criticism for virgin and sky. I guess it's pretty much par for the course with these gigantic companies.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostI've had problems with BT (dropping broadband) and they sorted it out ok.
