Thanjk you.

I dunno, I read that comment as a collective i.e. an extra £1.5m over the length of his contract.
Although I don't have an issue if Liverpool offered £40k a week (for example), I'm confident Rodgers would have known exactly what figure would entice him. And really, more fool Spurs for blitzing our offer; throwing so much *extra* cash just reeks of desperation and certainly doesn't back up Levy's supposed reputation as a deft negotiator.
I think the rest of the spurs squad will be very happy to hear that there wage system is being blown apart.
to be honest he's had half a season and to demand the wages he wants is a bit ott ....if he can get it so be it but you have to cut your cloth accordingly
LIVERPOOL FC look like being priced out of a move for Gylfi Sigurdsson after they refused to meet the player’s ‘wild’ wage demands.
Tottenham Hotspur have moved into pole position to sign the Icelandic midfielder after they agreed to match his salary requests.
That figure is believed to be nearly 50% more than what the Reds were willing to offer.
Liverpool had held extensive talks with the 22-year-old and put together a generous deal for a player of Sigurdsson’s experience.
However it appears the club and player are divided in their valuation.
The Reds’ American owners, the Fenway Sports Group, are reluctant to hand out bumper contracts having been lumbered with the lavish deals which brought players such as Joe Cole to the club.
Manager Brendan Rodgers made no secret of his desire to bring Sigurdsson to Anfield having worked with him at Swansea City but Liverpool are understood to have baulked at his wage demands.
Spurs are believed to have had an £8m offer accepted by the player’s parent club Hoffenheim and though personal terms are still to be agreed, have privately expressed their confidence the deal will be complete by the end of the week.
Sigurdsson is expected to undergo a medical at White Hart Lane on Friday.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
Liverpool attempt to hijack Spurs’ move for Gylfi Sigurdsson

Liverpool have not given up hope of winning the race to sign Gylfi Sigurdsson, but will not bow to the midfielder’s wage demands in a last-ditch attempt to prevent him from signing for Tottenham Hotspur.
Sigurdsson, 22, seems set to join Tottenham from Hoffenheim in a deal potentially worth £8 million.
Though accepting their status as outsiders for his signature, Liverpool’s interest in the Iceland international remains strong and their hopes of outflanking Spurs rest on the strength of Sigurdsson’s relationship with Brendan Rodgers, his former manager at Swansea City.
Tottenham, who are yet to appoint a replacement for Harry Redknapp as manager, should be able to offer higher personal terms as they look to reinvest some of the proceeds that they are expected to receive from Luka Modric’s likely transfer to Real Madrid.
Sigurdsson would be seen as a different type of midfielder to Modric, who is believed to have agreed a contract with the Spanish champions. Tottenham have asked to sign Nuri Sahin and Ricardo Carvalho, the former Chelsea defender, in exchange.
Sahin, the Turkey midfielder, has expressed an interest in a transfer, having played only four times for Real after his move from Borussia Dortmund last summer, while Hamburg are trying to re-sign Rafael van der Vaart, who last played for the German club in 2008.
Spurs’ bid to complete the signing of Jan Vertonghen has been held up because the defender believes that he is entitled to 15 per cent of the agreed fee of £9.7 million, rising by £2.3 million based on appearances and success.
The North London club are also back in for Leandro Damião, the Internacional forward who has two years on his deal. The Brazil striker is valued close to £20 million.
I suppose we're conducting business as we should, we've overpaid for players in the past. I'd like to think that if we were determined enough to land a player then we would offer a bit more, but it seems that Gylfi Sigurdsson just isn't valued any higher than we are prepared to offer. If he turns out to be a massive success at Spurs then we'll be disappointed. I think he could become a superb player and still hope that he signs for us, but there are better players out there who we may sign once the transfer window actually opens!
They're really testing my patience. Confirmed on the guardian. He'll be a Spurs player. We're also rans.
Well it must be true if the Guardian's confirmed it!
Every player has a value both in transfer fee and wages, if these are way out of kilter then we should move on, who's to say we've not been lining up someone else? Just because the hacks and twitterati don't know about it doesn't mean this isn't happening (of course on the flip side there may be nothing going on!)
I think the rest of the spurs squad will be very happy to hear that there wage system is being blown apart.
And yup.
Although reading that Times piece made me throw up a little sick in my mouth; Vertonghen, Sahin, Sigurdsson and Carvalho (whilst just rumours) would be some good business.
Although I think their more pressing matter would be to replace Adebayor.
I've said this before, I think we need 3 genuine first team players - Gylfi would be a good start but I am not going to get too worried about it if he doesn't turn up.
