Er, no he does not get a bonus if he has not fulfilled the criteria for receiving it.

Does he keep his job? Are we still talking football? If so, then he is often shifted on to another club (sold / loaned out). Are we talking other jobs? Mechanisms can be put in place to shift severely underperforming employees. I've seen it done many times.

There is always a risk in every transfer, but his career trajectory is very promising, I will put my neck on the line and say that Spurs are the on to a winner here, very disappointed.

Of coure there is, you can pay £50m for a player and they still turn out to be ****. That's why I don't think it's that unreasonable to expect a player to prove themselves for a year on a decent contract before they get to match our top earners. It's alright for the likes of City and Chelsea.

Although, I suppose that didn't work out too well for Meireles.

Do you think agents are looking at that new TV deal and already trying it on for bigger wages for their players? They reckon 75% of that TV money will go to the players, if I was an agent I would be making sure my players 4 or 5 year contract made the most of that expected raise in income.
