    The previous season he was Hoffenheim's player of the season, then for whatever reason he didn't play much this season just gone, until Swansea took him up on loan.

      Despite claiming to be "not in to fishing",Gylfi became the chairman of a fishing company in Flateyri called 'Lotna ehf' in 2011. Lotna ehf's boats catch lumpfish, cod, catfish and plaice and Gylfi's chairmanship makes him a prominent member of the Icelandic fishing industry.

        I don't know the story behind his time at Hoffenheim but I think I read that he fell out with the manager. Might be wrong though.

          He started 13 games and scored in 9 or something. Bit of an odd one. Seems fans adore him wherever he goes. Reading fans love him.

              Ridiculous that he is going so cheaply. If he was English and we were buying him from an English club, I fancy we'd have to pay £20m plus for him.

                I hope Rodgers sells Adam once he gets Sigurdsson. Way too many CM's we will have and I don't think Adam will fit well into a team that concentrates on winning the ball back as quickly as possible when we lose possession.

                      Icelandic media is reporting that we are talking to him but Tottenham are in the mix, as are Swansea and Reading.

                        I think they got a new manager and he just wasn't so highly regarded by him. Then he went on loan and Babbel took over them - do us a favour on this one Markus!

                          He had some injury problems after the EURO u-21 last summer and when he got fit the manager didn't want to play him.

                            I agree with your last point, but folk thought we had too many midfielders at the start of last season and that went out the window when we had to play Spearing. I think Adam deserves another season, but wouldn't be fussed if he was sold.
