OH ****ING PLEASE DO ME A ****ING FAVOUR ..Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI still think Brendo ****ed this up a bit. If we really wanted him no way should we have allowed him to speak to Swansea first... It was either cocky, or stupid, or cocky and stupid. Just get him signed up and move on or pass. It's fannying about and then missing out that makes us look ****.
I've never really seen him play personally, so am not sure it's the end of the world. I guess just seemed to fit our profile right now. And we have all got first transfer of the summer blood lust right now.
Hello ... is that Gylfl ...
Yes
Hello Gylfl is Brendan, how are you ?

So listen, I would like to sign you for Liverpool
Splendid
But hey dont speak to Swansea ... ok
Ehhh

Ehh ok boss

I understand your frustration mate - it's ****ing annoying that he's likely to go to Spurs. But think of it like this:Originally posted by NigelLG View PostThe fee is the same (agreed by Spurs).
When you go to buy a car you set a limit, you see a car that you really like and you decide to bid for it. You go in low obviously, someone offers the owner a lot more and then you've got to decide if you really want it that much.
If I think a car is valued at a maximum of £10k and someone else comes in and offers £15k, then there's no ****ing way that I'm going to up my bid. I'll find another car, maybe not today but something will come along.
It's annoying - really annoying - about the Sigurdsson thing because he's a good player, but you have to draw a line somewhere.
I'll be really pissed off if he does go to Spurs though.

Rodgers: I want to turn your loan into a permanent deal. How's £40k a week sound?
Rodgers: I'm going to Liverpool but I still want you. I've got a bigger wage budget though, so will offer you £55k a week.
Gilf/Gilf's agent: Spurs have offered us £70k ...
Rodgers: And I've offered £55k having increased our original agreement. We won't budge, make a decision.
Or perhaps we'd prefer our old school tactics:
Cole/Cole's Agent: We've been talking to a variety of clubs at £90k a we...
Purslow: £110k a week is right here on the table right now.
Or something like that, coz that's how all transfer negotiations work, innit.
I fail to see why we're at fault as a club? I doff my cap in their direction.

If he wants to join us he could accept our £55k offer with a clause saying we'll see how he goes for the 1st 2 yrs & up his contract then. If he does well I'm sure we'd be prepared to offer him a new contract. If he hasnt then he can move on if he wants.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Well even though a lot of people are posturing its still all conjecture. That said Buck knows how much he is worth, if he thinks he is not worth that much than I am happy to go with that. Spurs have wages to spend ... we dontOriginally posted by NigelLG View PostI don't think we were too far off, which makes it even more baffling.
either way nothing done yet nor will it for another week at least .... why are you getting so ****ing worked up about rumors about a player on loan from Iceland ... he had 5 decent months ... hes hardly XaviAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

6 months ago who could have predicted this reaction to missing out on Gylfi Sigurdsson?
I hadn't even heard of him, and tbh if he is not 100% committed to signing for us he can do one.
I am glad we are not being held to ransom and he is definitely not worth 70 grand a week. Sends out all teh wrong signals and will destabilise the group if some of the other players who are on less find out. Our terms or no deal seems very logical even if it is disappointing we are missing our target."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

I think Cole dwells too long in possession to be effective in a Rodgers systemOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostSurely Joe Cole has a chance. Maybe.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I'd take an experienced football administrator, someone akin to David Dein/ Brian BarwickOriginally posted by cream View PostWe need an experienced DoF, I don't trust Ayre with the football side of things.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life.
