If he wants a player, but that player wants to be paid over and above what the club thinks is the going rate, can Rodgers step in and say 'overpay' ?

"There are only a few players who could come in and make a difference to this squad"

maybe not haha I don't know but I'm quite glad we have not overpayed for a player who has had half a season in the prem albeit he is a good player but I have not paid him much attention and I'm only annoyed at this saga because Spurs fans will have thought they have beat us
