Exactly, you have your players that are technically average yet are productive yet when they lose form they have nothing to fall back on. Dembele is the type of player that still produces decent enough performances, certainly doesn't go missing from what I've seen.Originally posted by saj View PostHe is amazingly technical I'll agree. He hardly gets assists and has only scored 5 goals in 2 seasons though. That's hardly great for a attacking midfielder. That can obviously change though as the foundations are there for him to be world class
As you say, he's got bags of ability I'd be pretty surprised if he doesn't learn and grow into a player that creates and scores his fair share.Vive la France

That's a good point. We have a turd that falls into that description: Stewart DowningOriginally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostExactly, you have your players that are technically average yet are productive yet when they lose form they have nothing to fall back on. Right, that'll definitely fool them. Perhaps we can sell them those magic beans tooOriginally posted by TheElephantMan View PostDowning is ****, he's not going to suddenly be not ****. It's amazing that he was part of the England set-up at the Euros - this gives us an opportunity to pretend that he's not **** and get a decent bit of cash for him.

Exactly. Had a season ticket at Fulham for a year and that is spot on.Originally posted by saj View PostHe is exteremely talented but has no end product. Hardly scores or gets assists
And we ought to be able to do better than Dempsey too. Scores a lot of goals in at eam that plays deep and does not play through the midfield. Won't score goals for a team like Liverpool that spends most of its time in the opposition half.

Not sure I agree with that. Dempsey has scored from a lot of late runs when played deeper. I think that would allow him to get a lot of the chances Maxi and Kuyt have had in the past. I think we lacked that last season when Maxi and Kuyt didn't play much and now they've left. He wouldn't be for the long term but I think he would be a good way of helping bridge from where we are now to where we want to be.
On of my worries would be that he has scored a lot from crosses - which is something Swansea under Rodger were not prone to attempting."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

A lot of money for someone like Dempsey. Would not be a bad purchase for around the 3 million mark but 7.5, we are over paying again.Originally posted by Bender View PostThe new Kop boss is set to agree an £8million deal that will see Clint Dempsey arrive at Anfield to strengthen his attacking options.
