Interesting cos the Independent has been saying for a while reports of both Allen & Dempsey are 'well wide of the mark'
Rumours that the club are moving for Fulham's Clint Dempsey are well wide of the mark. The same goes for Swansea City's Joe Allen, though the undertaking Rodgers made not to go back to his former club for players is not cast in stone and would be difficult to enforce if a Swansea player demanded to leave to play for the Northern Irishman.
Liverpool prepare £5m Dempsey bid as they look to offload Carroll permanently
The Fulham attacking midfielder has rejected a new contract from the London club but will have to wait for his dream move while the England striker's future is resolved
Herbert from the Indepentant is now saying that there is a chance we will go in for Dempsey towards the back end of the summer if other targets don't sign.
Like I said elsewhere journalists haven't got a clue, within a few hours their stance has gone from 'wide of the mark' to 'LFC might be interested later in the summer'
Get those ****ing splinters out of your ass why don't you.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
What position does Dempsey play? Where would he play...
as in,where is he most effective...
I think he is best in the hole off the main striker, which, not ideal for LFC. He also plays on the left wing sometimes for Team USA, who play a 4-3-2-1 (Altidore alone up top, Dempsey on the LW, Donovan RW, Bradley/Edu/Jones DM), but he is free to roam and drift from the left and often comes inside and is always getting into the box. Sometimes, USA will pull a holding midfielder and Dempsey will partner just off of Altidore, and this is where he is best IMO.
If we played him with Suarez and Borini, I would expect Suarez to lead the line with Borini on the right and Dempsey on the left with Gerrard CAM ahead of Lucas and (insert midfielder here... Allen? Aquilani? Henderson?) in a 4-3-3.

Oh and PS- he does not cross the ball from a deep or wide position; he will always try to dribble it in on goal or pass horizontally across the top of the box and make a run into the box looking for a 1-2. He also will always be drifting inside; Enrique better be ready to cover that wing (and come forward for crosses) if Dempsey comes.
