Kuyt said he wanted to play in England when at Feyenood, and the only other team linked was Spurs, and we know how Spurs work. And that was probably no firmer than Arsenal's supposed interest in Dempsey.

Well there doesn’t seem to be much interest from abroad either. Even Dirk seemed to attract a lot of interest after a poor season.Originally posted by little dave hedgehog View Postthere's only a handful of british teams that would be a real step up for him, and those clubs don't really need him.
Not that that defines who the better player is but everything else worth debating just comes down to my personal opinion vs Kenneth’s and we both already know where we stand. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

i mean but seriously, who cares? brenny and the jets thinks he's going to improve the side and he's trying to negotiate a price that makes sense for what we hope to get from him. let's let the man work. i honestly don't care if he comes or not, i'm more interested in whether the coach thinks that's who we need to push on.dave of mutilation

There's a reason to sign him right there.Originally posted by danperkins View PostDirk was a better player, now... not so much. IMO if we sign Dempsey he will silence alot of the critics on here. But each to their own

Dirk was a good grafter (big deal) and he did get some important goals but he was slow cumbersome with the first touch of a sledgehammer.
Dempsey is currently playing better than Dirk did for the last 3 seasons.
We should also consider our position and our limits, we are an above average club with a decent history offering 2nd tier European football. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

I genuinely think that he would surprise alot of people, just my opinion but i'd like to see Dempsey here i think every team needs a player like Dempsey with that bit of fire and balls & IMO would make a great addition to the squadOriginally posted by dww View PostThere's a reason to sign him right there.

Haven't seen enough of Dempsey recently to agree or disagree with that second para but the rest of this is bang on the money.

Pick any of Dirk's seasons with us and none of them are more productive than Dempsey's last season. Forwards need to be productive and that's what Dempsey seems to bring to the table. I care not that he's a boggle eyed wind-up merchantOriginally posted by Reece View PostI absolutely love(d) Dirky, but no way was he better last season than Dempsey. No way.

Dempsey is a better option than Kuyt for sure but only at the right price.
We are were we are, the sooner people realise it and accept it.. the better IMO.
