That sort just emphasises how **** we were last season... Chad got 2 goals and 11 assists. But just goal & assist stats don't tell the whole picture. He probably gave the ball away more than most and fouled a hell of a lot more than most... often leading to us conceding a goal. He is a championship player.

He is decent player BUT he has major flaws.

- He constantly fouls, stupidly. This was evident even in the friendly on saturday

- His fitness is shocking. After 50 mins,he seemed ****ed and was subsituted in a lot of games at the 60 min mark

- He overdoes set pieces. He tries to be too smart on free kicks and corners rather than keep it simple. This was again evident in the friendly.

All of the above are incredibly frustrating. Having said all that, he was one of our most productive players but I can't see him getting many games.

I am no fan of Adam, was horribly disappointed with his set pieces & nearly threw my cup of tea at the tv a few times!! But IMO alot of people are being very unfair on him. The fact of the matter is that he was playing out of position!! And not only that,he was played in a position (DM) which literally goes against every aspect of his game.

I know he is slow,lethargic,awful tackler & has no positional sense whatsoever! Now putting a player like that in a DM role at the heart of our midfield is a recipe for disaster. Kenny put Adam in that role and he got horribly exposed.

Adam played about 5 games on the bounce with Lucas early in the season & they were fantastic together!! The reason for this was because Adam had 'zero' defensively responsibility, and he could cruise around spraying balls and get forward not having to worry about the defensive side of things as Lucas was there behind him mopping up.

Adam has certain qualities, great left foot, good range of passing & seems to have a high rate of production. To me it makes sense to play this guy nearer the opposition goal. Now if we sell him i won't bat an eyelid, but he was 100% played in a position, through no fault of his own.. that he could not handle & it cost us.

I listen on here to people making excuses for certain players i.e. henderson should be played in CM/then it was Downing should be LM even though he played RM for Villa in his best spell. But IMO i feel that Adam gets a really hard time and alot of the criticisms he gets on here are very unbalanced and bit unfair 7 if people are going to make excuses for others, Adam should be afforded the same courtesy.

It is not as cut and dry as some are making it out to be.

Adams has no chance in that set up. I have no doubt he is capable of creating and scoring a few, but he has to many deficiencies to his game to be in a top team where that 1 mistake could cost us the game.

go to a lower ranked team and be lorded for his creativity while he makes mistakes like the others around him

He was a stupid signing, as was Downing, as was Carroll. Adam is a symptom of everything that was wrong at Liverpool last season. I know Aquilani and Meireles wanted to leave, but even they were a level above Adam.

Sorry. I think Dempsey would be a more effective signing than anything we signed last season, Suarez excepted.

Of course but that's no reason for an unbalanced argument about Adam, the fact still remains that people's dislike for him is making them forget the facts, and people have to admit that he was played in the wrong position, regardless if you rate him or not.

We have been dismal in the transfer market recently, Adam/Downing/Henderson/Carroll/Aqua/Meireles have all been let downs. Couldn't give a hoot if any of them go (Meireles gone obviously).

If you can't endure Charlie Adam, well then you must really hate the above mentioned as they were worse at Liverpool.

I can't imagine anybody as a Liverpool fan would have picked any of those players to embellish the squad and push us forward - I can't get my head around why they were signed, it just dumbfounds me.

Re Henderson, I genuinely think he has the potential to do something. Meireles popped up with some goals and looked decent, much more class than Adam.

You left Cole off that list as well. He's just a drain, a wages black hole.

Forgot Cole!! Hendo for me well that remains to be seen, personally i don't see it. Meireles had a brilliant month and really didn't do much else.

But yes i completely agree with your sentiments and it is criminal the amount of money we have wasted, embarrassing actually.
