I personally think that Beckham should be in the squad.

Pissing Olympics is going to disrupt our season and pre-season though. FFS.

I agree. Its not like anyone gives a **** about the tournament, let Beckham play if he wants

      Stuart Pearce is a tool.

Pearce is flexing his muscles isn't he. I think he's trying to make a statement about having big bollocks by dropping Beckham.

Like him or dislike him - and I like him - I think Beckham would've been a much more worthy inclusion in the squad than Giggs and Richards.

And dare I say it; Bellamy. And I love Bellamy.

I don't know why you and Lee are imputing such complicated (not to mention dishonourable) motives to Pearce. The simplest explanation is that he feels Beckham isn't as good as the three players he's picked. I happen to agree but that's not the main issue - surely you accept it's a credible argument?

If Pearce's job is to try to win it, then he's right to pick the squad he thinks give him the best chance. If that means no place for Beckham, then I can't see the problem.

Maybe it really is that simple.
              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I really expected Beckham to be in it

Be interesting to see the full squad to see where he could fit in

On the pre season thing I don't think its a problem for our players to be in a competitive competition to get themselves up and running for the season. They are only likely to miss a Europa league qualifier or 2

Well its my brother-in-laws's ticket, so if it's sold it will be by him, but it's been offered to me if I want it. Accepting it and then selling it to have someone else sat with him and two other member of my extended family would probably be a bit of a no-no.

Yeah there's good and bad points for our players to be included in the squad. Suppose it depends who we sign in the summer, as we could potentially have a long season with a very weak squad.

Because Kelly & Henderson were in the Euro's, can they be included in the Olympic squad?

                      When's the squad announced mate?

I'm torn on Bellars. I think he'd be great for the Olympics but I also think he's the ideal (part-time) player for our season next year in the Europa League, especially in the early rounds.

At least we'll have Aquilani back for the Europa League qualifiers.

Beckham is well past it, if he'd have been selected it would have only have been because he was involved in the bid process.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He really should have been selected. Psycho Pearce.....laughable attempt to show his tough streak as a Manager.

Some laughable attempts at arguing why goldenballs should be included more like.
                                Oh I don't know.
