Hope Coutinho hits the ground running. He should know that he only has 2 games to prove his worth to us fans

Not enough really imo, he looked rusty and inhibited, some players need to play an injury out of their mind even if the injury is totally healed.

Then again, maybe he looked ready to BR in the practice games he played.

The "don't judge a player until he's played at least 7 full seasons for us" thing is all a bit superfan for me. Everyone does it, it's impossible not to. Anyone who says they haven't formed an opinion on him already is lying. I haven't written him off, I'm just saying early signs are not good and I wish we'd spent the £11m on someone better suited. Sturridge for instance should have been signed way before he was.

I don't think he did get any games before coming back in? I might be wrong but I didn't hear of any. Think the reserve league is a bit hit and miss.

Tbf to him, i don't think he's played in a good fluent lfc side yet.

If he stays fit from now on, and we keep performing as we have...in the league, we get a better idea imo.

Obviously, I don't expect him to be running rings around defenders yet but what he's shown so far with the ball at his feet, I think someone like Ecceleston could replicate and he's ****e too.

I do appreciate that his movement is clever and unselfish.

...we paid £13m for Cisse who was also a mover but he just went in straight lines. Borini looks like he can do circles too...

I always judge a player after a complete season which includes a decent pre-season with us, if possible but it doesn't stop me forming a negative or positive opinion before that full season is passed. On Borini he gets until the end of this season then he gets judged.
(I still think he is cack)
Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

Do you make a little calender "Time to pass judgement on Borini" reminder too? Then do you sit down there pen and paper in had assessing him and scoring him out of 100?

It all just seems so specific. I get that it's premature to judge after only a few games, but I do hate this "you can't judge a player until he's played at least one full season" bollocks. It's nonsense to be so specific about it.

With some players it's obvious early on, with other's it takes time to assess. Each case is different.

I think Rodgers wants Borini to replicate his goal threat from the left side of attack ...

thing is with borini (or any player) obviously they need time to settle in etc, but you would usually see something/some reason why we have signed them

with borini i just don't see anything in him - he's bang average. I admittley didn't know much about him when we signed him as i'd never heard of him, don't remember him doing anything when he was at swansea.

So we sign him, what was it £10m and then rodgers comes out with he is a beast of player, physical etc and some other ****.

But he offers zero pace, seems very lightweight, doesn't look like he can finish his tea, i just don't see what he offers.

Now granted, it's early days etc - but i'd still expect to see a glimpse of something after a dozen games or so.

Carrol, we can slag him off all we want but at least it was clear what he offered us, a big target man up front.

Joe Allen seems to be public enemy no.1 at the moment (and i admit he is ****ing me off too) but at least there has been signs at times that he understands and can play the game

but borini, i just don't see anything in him
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Agree with this, this is what I've been saying all day, there's been no glimpses of class which can give you hope, none at all. That's why I'm worried.
