Good interview with Borini on the official. Really hope he can come back and make an impact next season.

Do people still want him back as a squad player next season?

Seems a great lad with a great work ethic, but he's a bit **** isn't he?

His Premier League stats for this season back me up:

3 goals in 25 league appearances.
                A goal every 511 minutes.

Appalling really, even for a side about to be relegated.

Martin Skrtel has scored a goal every 461 minutes.

I realise we need more options from the bench next season but I'd sell both him and Aspas in the Summer if we get a half decent offers. We'll need better to challenge on all fronts next season.

I'd like to see them both go in the summer.

Hes been on the wing most of the time though and Sunderland are woeful.

He's playing for a really **** team who don't score many goals and he doesn't usually play through the middle, so it's difficult to weigh up his form. Also it's about more than just numbers and his performances, especially in the 2nd half of the season, have been mostly good whenever I've seen him. Sunderland fans love him.

It think he'd get a decent goal return up front for us, however I don't think he can ever be more than a sub for Sturridge. Certainly wouldn't call him **** though.

I knew you'd all bring up him playing wide. He played wide for us too, and he'd have to next season. He's not even close to good enough to take us forward.

I think we need quality not quantity. Sell him and Aspas and put the money towards one more striker who can realistically challenge for a spot.

I'd much rather have three top strikers than two top ones and two average ones.

i'm not a big borini fan.

                            it's a tough one

he's still young and the games have done him good and he's looked better for it, though obviously his goalscoring record isn't great.

he 'potentially' gives us an option to cover in any of the 3 forward positions which works in his benefit

i'd say, given the champions league games etc we want 6 attacking options to cover the front three

                            sturridge
                            suarez
                            coutinho
                            sterling

gives us four - though we are lacking a central striker cover (anyone says aspas should be banned )

i think we can accomodate one more 'star' without it being too crowded.

then it means do we keep borini and tell him look - you might get 15-20 games spread around next season coming off the bench/cup games.

thing is - playing sporadically and getting 10 mins here and 10 mins there really doesn't seem to suit borini....some players can do it - borini looks like he needs runs of games to get sharp and even then it's not that sharp

it all depends on our budget and who we can get. For example, no point in us selling borini say £7m and Aspas £4m - if we just spend £11m on another player like them. If it's not a clear upgrade in quality it's not worth it.

for me it's keep Suarez/Sturridge/Sterling/Coutinho and add one top player to it who get goals/play wide if needed - and then keep one/sell the other out of Aspas/Borini depending on what deals are on the table.

if...big if....we have the budget/targets identified to sign two good attackers and sell aspas and borini then do it.

Who is this mystery man? What striker who we could realistically target is going to challenge Suarez and/or Sturridge for a place in the team?! Whoever we sign in that position - if we sign anyone - is going to be back-up and he will know it.

We need quality and quantity, if we want to play in the PL, CL, FA cup, League Cup and Community Shield (:P).

And you can't just exclude points that don't suit you. He's playing on the wing for Sunderland which is ****, playing on the wing for us would already be different, playing up front for us (which I don't know why think is impossible, we do use strikers in our system from time to time) would be even better. I think he should be given a chance.
