Lucas was slightly injured and hadn't trained all week. But surely if Lucase was fit enough to come on at half time, he was fit enough to start?

Not sure being ok to play half a game is not the same as being able to play the full game. I think he didn't want to use Lucas at all if possible, certainly not bring him on at half time.

I presume because be had been able to train all week and had probably been fine while doing so.

There is definitely a good player in Allen, he was excellent in the start of the season and kept us in a lot of games by bossing the midfield basically on his own.

I am very confident he will come back next season, without the shoulder issue (which could have been affecting him for a while and a possible reason why he has performed so poorly lately), and have a really good year for us. Gerrard won't be around forever and in the next few seasons wont be able to play every minute of the league like he basically has this year.

Allen is slightly different to Gerrard and probably better suits Rodgers system, so surely he could be an important player for us long term.
