For all I know he might like to play as a No.9.Most Kids dream of playing as a striker.
But you said he has yet to consistently play in his position...which is?

You asked what his preferred position is..Like I said thats a question he has to answer.Originally posted by Tee View Post

If You ask me what I think his ideal position is. I would Say a CM. Not a DM or AM. A standard CM. Not a Box to Box CM. Just a CM. A Plain CM

i think you slightly misread that.Originally posted by Tee View PostWTGOR that is a load of baloney mate. Allen does not need a minder, nor does it need Gerrard moving to the right to get the best out of him.
The simple fact of the matter, and it has been clear for all of us to see, is that he has struggled to assert himself in games for several reasons (lack of strength, questionable mobility, poor passing and a lack of vision with forward passing are some examples of what I have seen on several occasions).
Personally I don't think he is that good a DM or even CM so am not really sure what role he is going to effectively play in a successful LFC team long term. I hope he goes on and improves and proves me wrong, but for £15m we should be doing a lot better than him (yes, even thinking long term).
I meant that gerrard needs to be baby sat not allen. Stevie likes to bomb on and likes to get on the ball but leaves the dirty work to others. When we play stevie deep like he did vs utd, it means lucas has to play next to him and cover for him.
This means the final midfield spot which is at the apex of the triangle is taken either by hendo or allen. imo henderson is a much better player there than allen.
Ive no issues with allen long term but the question is whether both him and lucas can play in the same team without getting in each others way. Can allen start to dictate the tempo of the game because lucas will get it and give it all day. one of them has to show that they are able to make the play.
can joe get on the ball and make things happen like rodgers systems needs him to. I dont think he can and i dont think its his game but that doesnt mean hes ****. far from it.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

I think the midfield looked pretty good second half. Allen had a **** first half. I though once Sturridge came on and space opened up the midfield looked solid and seemed to have a decent level of control over the flow of the game.."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

i have to say that i think joe can look very good in a midfield three but would struggle in a two.Originally posted by Baracus View PostYou asked what his preferred position is..Like I said thats a question he has to answer.

He looks like a player bought for a particular system and to do a very specific job. If the system is changed or his job is altered then he looks less impressive.
i still think he's superb but has to handled very carefully.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

He's got much more stamina but isn't a better passer of the ball than Allen.

Did we ever establish how far behind United we are? Someone said miles, but that has been met with caustic criticism. I think probably a furlong at most.Originally posted by dww View PostThe team with the most points wins the league. Henderson not the same person as Allen.
