Good point on Alonso. I think there is a slight case of rose tinted specs when it comes to his whole time here. His first and last years with us he was phenomenal. But the 2 years in the middle he was average at best. Some good games, some terrible. No real form. He only really kicked on again after Barry was talked about.

I love Alonso. But lets not put him up on some pedestal. Then again an average Alonso is better than most.

I did, and am proud to say I did in those difficult times as well. He suffered injuries and was in and out for a while, but I (and many others) always knew and believed that the class was there and once fully fit he showed that.

Do you need to keep repeating the point over and over though? It's almost daily, certainly after every bad result. Think most of us have got the message now....you don't rate Allen

100% true mate, we always strive for perfection and Mascher was far from perfect. But even then he is ten times the player Allen is. Put it this way, if we put Allen up for sale tomorrow who would want him? The Stokes, Villas and Sunderlands of this world, not the top teams.

Surely he is entitled to his opinion though and it's not like Lec is just saying "he's ****".

If someone doesn't rate a player and can give valid reasons why they don't rate a player.... they shouldn't basically be told to shut up.. which is pretty much what you are saying.

Lets all face it though. Allen has been crap lately. No getting around that one. I just think half of us think its form, the other half thinks its lack of ability.
