He seems to have a much better footballing brain than him though. Overplaying him at this stage won't do him any favours, surely.
I agree that he is over hyped. I mean he's got talent and has a good future a head of him but should he on current ability have been capped for England already? Not in my opinion.

I think his pace is exaggerated I actually don't think he's very fast at all compared to Lennon for example.

He's a hard worker though and tactically aware when it comes to defending, he's scored a couple of good goals this season so there is definitely potential there. But some (media) people seem to think he's the next big thing and I don't see it that way.

I think he'll go on to become a very good player for us if he stays here, but not to the level of say Gareth Bale.

      +1

We had very few positives over last few years that seeing 17 year old kid making the first team gave us a sense of hope and belief that things will improve.

He is good talent but he has long, long way to go to be a footballer many people think he will become.

Personally I'm not sure if he ever will.

I think you forget how young Sterling is. Bale Didn't really establish himself at spurs till he was in his twenties, If you remember Spurs never won a game he started for ages although that was at Left back.

Bale ripped up the football league at 17 and sure sterling would do the same if he dropped down to the Championship.

Whether he becomes a great, like others I am not sure, But like Bale he has been discussed since an early age as being a potential great, So don't think we should take his dip in form as something to worry about, We should just take his best games as a glimpse of an exciting future

Assaid did well for his first match with morocco in first match in africa cup of nations in south africa , the team plays good first half, missed 3 goals but second half they was not good, Assaidi was the most dangerous guy even if the coach made him help defense more than he should in my eyes, last ten minutes he was tired but still dangerous with good passe, he is smart and don't overplay, he do what he have to do when he have to do it. no useless dribbles and have a good shoot with his both feet.
i think he need regular appearances in EPL before judge him,
by the way he will play wednesday the second match against cape verde, and sunday third match against south africa.
cape verde sounds exotic maybe :d , it's their first africa cup but they play good enough to draw south africa at home. !! and they were close to win.
assaidi play in both wings (exchange with Amrabet "from galatasaray") with his national team and even finished last match as offensive midfield!!
i can't udnerstand why downing is prefered to him !! anyway BR know better than me for sure.
good luck for assaidi and the team.

                Thanks for sharing man.

I'm a bit confused as to why he doesn't even get a chance too, but hey it's the managers choice!

Right now, i'm in Casablanca, Morocco

i'm liverpool fan from 1983, i support my national team first but liverpoool comes before Assaidi no matter if he is Moroccan but i believe he can do well for us, he should get some apparences then if he misses chances, better to sell him and get back some money and buy better player, i think many team will love to get him especially psv and ajax.

i don't like talk bad about our players but "downing".... i have no clue, anyway again BR knows better and i respect his choices.

i hope he will comes back from south africa without injury and more fit to show why BR bought him, tomorrow i will watch the match against Cape Verde and report here, i will try to record a video to post too, if he play and do something to deserve that.
