I can kind of see what you mean there but IMO he is much more skillful than Sinclair, has a better end product and has a better hair style.

I do not think he is anything like Maxi.

Despite the song, Maxi was rubbish down the wing. He had none of the attributes needed to play there. He was intelligent in both his passing and movement, with a decent shot. He could neither run with or cross the ball with decent accuracy. He was by far a better withdrawn striker.

Assaidi just seems like a typical winger. Can run with the ball, and is intelligent with his lay offs. Have not seen too many crosses. Seems to work hard to win the ball back too.

But if its true we only paid a couple of million for him, then thats a bargin. Especially as he is doing the job we paid Downing to do, and is performing far better in just a handful of games. He is probably happy to play fewer games too, being backup to Sterling and Suso. A good alternative. Its actually nicew to have some decent options out wide considering how long we have been without a proper winger.

While I agree with everything you say I didn't mean in the sense that he is the same kind of player.

Was more a point that he is someone we will be able to use that will chip in with the odd goal every now and again while being quite cheap.

We could pay him a million quid a second for all I care, as long as we are winning i'm happy.

Done alright last night, the lad........done alright.
Could become a useful addition to the squad if he can weigh in with a few assists or goals if the opportunities come his way.
Got involved, always looking to get forward, good with the ball at his feet, could have had a peno (albeit, soft IMO)..........more of that please.

Useful in FIFA as well.....good at skinning reckless FBs.

The way he spreads the play, he reminds me of how old Steve McMa could do - as well as his holding the ball our wide to help the central players to get forward.

He did very well but looks a touch off it physically. Hopefully he will be in the gym working on that upper body strength. I think this lad could really come to life next season once he has fully adjusted to this country and league. So far the signs are good.

Absolute nonsense. Maxi didn't play like a stereotypical winger but he was an extremely effective wide forward. He would have been tailor-made for BR if he had him a few years ago.

In Episode 4 of Being Liverpool, in the last 10 minutes they show the team training and playing training games. All you see is Assaidi turning Coates inside out. On one occasion Coates ends up flat on his arse

You also see him beat Reina at his near post with a left footed strike and Reina screams in disappointment

This guy is outstanding. I still can't get over the fee paid for him. Heerenveen must have taken the the same drug/drink/thing Kenny and Commoli took when they were negotiating the transfer deals for Henderson, Carroll and Downing. And they got rid of Narsingh too for 4.5m euros.
