In Episode 4 of Being Liverpool, in the last 10 minutes they show the team training and playing training games. All you see is Assaidi turning Coates inside out. On one occasion Coates ends up flat on his arse

You also see him beat Reina at his near post with a left footed strike and Reina screams in disappointment

Assaidi is so direct, always positive looking to run at defenders and get down the line. Doesn't seem like a headless chicken either, like Sterling not just a pace merchant, always looking to pick the right pass too. He is very slight but that means **** all if you're a winger. He has pace,skill and determination and defenders hate playing against someone who just keeps running at them, scares the life out of them.

Very early days for him but he has looked promising. Need games to that used to the league & get that sharpness a winger needs. With time hopefully we'll see some end product as regards goals and assists.

It was on the episode that was on a couple of weeks ago. You see Assaidi round the keeper with one goal, then he is absolutely tearing apart Coates I mean Coates looks like he is moving in slow motion. Then they show him twisting and turning Coates so sharply that he ends up on his arse. And then the Reina scream when he is beaten at the near post

Absolute nonsense. Maxi didn't play like a stereotypical winger but he was an extremely effective wide forward. He would have been tailor-made for BR if he had him a few years ago.

I have to disagree as imo one of Sterling strengths, in addition to pace, is an eye and timing for a good quality pass.

Don't want to take anything away from Downing's wonderful strike but he was in tons of space. Couldn't help thinking it was because Anzi were already double man-marking Assaidi who went extremely wide to give Downing the room. Team game.
