I think its because we've moved on from Alonso but we didn't move forwards so its easy to compare.

If we had £15m to spend on a CM in the summer I'd think there are much better options out there than Alonso. Strootman for example, a player who is starting his career and has his story a head of him.

Xabi have carried a poor Real midfield this season and he is a realistic signing. Many younger and very good players out there but totally unrealistic signings.

Xabi is realistic in terms of what you believe and only that.

Strootman was purely an example, he's either off to United or possibly either of the Milan clubs.

Although he was still pretty good last season and more realistic for us to sign, which goes to show there are players out there but if you sit on your hands waiting the big clubs come sniffing round.
