That and the fact that Rafa seemingly wanted to buy every player in Europe and south america who has turned out to be good in the last decade and there just wouldn't have been enough space.

The £5m or whatever the rumoured price was would only been a part of the transfer fee because we would have to pay 100% of the player rights.

Best striker in the world imo.

Monaco player claims Falcao to sign for club
Last updated Thu 16 May 2013

Monaco goalkeeper Danijel Subasic has claimed the ambitious club are 90 per cent certain to sign Atletico Madrid striker Falcao.

I'll tell you what I heard: Falcao is already 90 per cent Monegasque!

He will appear in Monte Carlo in a few days and officially become our player.

That's what they told us, with the only doubt being that he could sign for Real Madrid, which at the moment does not look likely.

If he does not go to the Bernabeu, he will come to us in the principality. Let's wait for confirmation once it happens.

I know the owner is not going to save, he has announced that in the summer he will spend more than 100million euros (£84.6m) on players.

Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao, 27, has publicly denied rumours of a move to recently promoted French side Monaco. The Colombian says Real Madrid are his current "favourites" but emphasised he has three years left on his contract.

                    Doubts cast over Falcao's age.

AS Monaco’s £50million striker Radamel Falcao is reportedly two years younger than he has been claiming.

According to a report on Noticias Uno, the former Porto and Atletico Madrid striker’s date of birth held by FIFA, February 10 1986, is actually incorrect.

A news report on the channel claims the records at one of Falcao’s former primary schools, Colegio San Pedro Claver de Bucaramanga, show his date of birth to be February 10 1984.

This would make him 27 years old rather than 29 and provides an interesting dilemma for his club Monaco.

However, the report also claims Falcao’s father has insisted it is only a mistake and that his son was 27.

£50million is a lot of money for any player and age often has a big impact on the size of transfer fees, what with a player’s sell-on value decreasing with every year, especially in their late 20s.

The Colombia international was hailed as one of the best players in the world last season after scoring 34 goals in 41 games for Atletico Madrid.

Neither Falcao nor Monaco have made any comment about the claims as yet, though it is a story that will warrant some kind of response.

Yeah, I should read past the headline before posting it.

That article is an absolute shambles

The claim is that he is 29 and not 27.
