He was alright, yes. Great for him to be involved in a game like that. I look forward to seeing him again with a bit more time and a bit calmer situation.

Certainly wasOriginally posted by Reece View PostWas it his through-ball to Sturridge for the pen?
He put Suarez through which led to Texeira's shot and he almost put Suarez through again with the outside of his boot but not enough strength behind it to beat the defender. Very good 10 minute cameo!
I can see that Rodgers is easing Alberto, Ibe and Texeira slowly into the team and giving them a taste of first team action to keep them motivated.
Great work Joao! Was muß, das muß.

I thought Brendan had just put him on the bench today for the experience & couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him being introduced when the game was in the balance at 2-2. That's some confidence that BR showed in the young lad today. Fair dues it him for playing him at such a crucial time too.
The boy did good too.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

It did and it helped push play away from our goal as they were worried about the through ball. When you have Texeira, Coutinho and Gerrard in the team, plus a very quick front three, you'll want to defend deep!Originally posted by SB View PostI thought Brendan had just put him on the bench today for the experience & couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him being introduced when the game was in the balance at 2-2. It looked a baffling decision at that time see Sterling being subbed out for Tex but Rodgers knows where it's at. We probably needed a calmer passer at that point and the sub proved to be inspired.
That says that Tex must have really impressed the gaffer in training for him to be considered as a key sub in a tight game.I wear my heart on my profile name.

Some nice words from Ste G
With eight minutes remaining of a frenzied game last night, Rodgers introduced Academy midfielder Joao Carlos Teixeira in place of Raheem Sterling - a senior debut for the talented Portuguese.
His appearance followed a recent promotion to training with the first team at Melwood; Gerrard, however, has been aware of the 21-year-old's potential for far longer than that.
Quizzed on his analysis of Teixeira's maiden contributions for the club, the No.8 reflected: "It has only been a matter of time.
"I watched this kid a couple of years ago playing for Sporting Lisbon against Liverpool at Anfield in a youth game; I could see straight away he was the best player on the pitch.
"Credit to him, he has kept working hard. He has been invited to train with the first team. He is competing, he is trying to improve and learn. He listens - I've just been speaking to him in the dressing room and you can see he wants to learn and listen.
"He has got respect for the other players in the dressing room. This is the start for him now; I've just told him that he needs to push on, keep learning and building on what he has just achieved. He deserved his debut and he made a special tackle which helped us get over the line."
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins
