Thanjk you.

Bar Ibe, our loan moves are generally a bit of a disaster, so if I was a player, I'd be reluctant to accept an offer.
I think it's more that our loan players aren't actually as good as they get made out to be. But in general, it tends to be that if you're not strong & fast or incredibly talented, you're not going to make the grade.
true. I think Andre Wisdom has been a bit of a bad loan. He went to derby last season to play games, then WBA this season. I wonder does he look at someone like Flanagan and wonder should he have stayed and backed himself to get game time....
For me, if AW stuck it out at LFC then he would have possibly had circa 25 games for us by now......especially last season. Obviously these decisions are made in the off-season - and he probably looked at us signing Lovren, Moreno and Manquillo and thought it would have been best to get some game time - but in hindsight he could have got ahead of Manquillo......and even tonight, he would possibly got the chance to play at RCB allowing Emre Can move into CM.

Can youth players reject loan moves though? And wasn't Flanno's case different as he wasn't approached by any club for a loan?
I think that the issues are two-fold firstly the quality of reserve/youth football isn't great so we look at players in there and think that they are better than they. I think we always seem to think we have 3 or 4 players who are going to come through and make the grade, when we have only really had about 5 players in the last 25 years who have been good enough to play for us for a decent amount of time (McManaman, Fowler, Carragher, Owen, Gerrard), plus quite a few that have had a decent amount of games for us but never really made it as a regular in the side (David Thompson, Stephen Wright, Stephen Warnock, Neil Mellor, Jay Spearing, Martin Kelly, Suso, Pacheco etc)
The other issue is finding the right club to loan them out to. So often we seem to loan a player out to a club and within a few weeks the manager who brought him in has been sacked, meaning that the player can be somewhat marginalised. Another issue is that clubs in a relegation battle or that are struggling probably prefer experienced players to young players, so game time is reduced. What we really want is the player playing regularly for the club he is loaned to, but at the higher levels (loans to other Premiership clubs or some Championship clubs) this doesn't happen. I guess the question as to whether a player does well on loan is and is going to come back and get a place in the squad here is, or whether they were better hanging around LFC hoping for a chance depends very much on luck. Flanagan got his chance because of injuries, Wisdom could have hung around waiting for a chance, but the chances are he would have spent most of his time on the bench. He is probably better off going for a loan move because it gets him experience and if someone like him doesn't make it at LFC he's been out there and clubs have seen him play. If LFC were to tell him to find a new club he would be much more likely to get a good move than if he had been playing reserve team football for a couple of years. On the other hand there is the Ibe situation, where he probably looks better playing for us than he did playing for Derby, but you would imagine that the loan move has given his confidence a boost and helped that.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

good post.
re the highlighted bit, the only way we can be sure we can blood our youngsters is for us to field a B team, like the big spanish teams do. we would have more control over who gets a game and have more direct feedback.
if we are serious about this FSG model of bringing through yoof then we need to get them all playing.
i dont think the way to go is buy another lower league club, we need to enter a B team at the bottom and get them to work through the leagues on merit. its a long term project but it needs to be done.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

The more I look at our 3-4-3 the more I think it's best served with two goal-getting #10's. Coutinho and Lallana ran the City midfield ragged with their movement in the pockets between midfield and defense, and against Besiktas, if Teixeira was available we could have used him alongside Sterling. I think a quartet of #10s in Coutinho, Lallana, Teixeira and Sterling would be a healthy number. (And Ojo comes in as backup to Moreno as left wingback.)
Liverpool FC talent Joao Carlos Teixeira will be given chance to force his way into Rodgers' plans

Liverpool midfielder Joao Carlos Teixeira will be given the opportunity to force his way into Brendan Rodgers’ plans when he returns to the club this summer.
The Reds boss has been delighted by the first-team experience the 22-year-old has gained during a season-long loan spell with Brighton.
Teixeira has scored six goals in 28 appearances for Chris Hughton’s Championship outfit.
The Portugal youth international, who has one year remaining on his contract, recently admitted he faces a battle trying to establish himself at Anfield due to the competition for places in the Liverpool squad.
However, Rodgers intends to run the rule over Teixeira in pre-season and he’s likely to travel to Australia for July’s tour Down Under.
That will provide the stage for Teixeira to prove he’s worthy of a place ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.
Teixeira has admitted that if he doesn’t make the grade at Liverpool he would consider a permanent move to Brighton.
“It’s really difficult because Liverpool are a big club with great players, but you dream of playing Premier League football with Liverpool,” he said.
“I really want that and I’m going to work for it but you never know what’s going to happen in the future.
“Of course I would see Brighton as an option, I like everything here. I like the city and it’s really nice living here.”
Teixeira cost Liverpool around £800,000 from Sporting Lisbon in 2012. His progress was initially hampered by a back injury before he had a short spell on loan at Brentford.
A run of impressive performances for Liverpool Under-21s led to Rodgers handing him his first-team debut in February 2014. He came off the bench for the last eight minutes of the dramatic 3-2 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Those stats sound like just the type of youngster we should be looking to buy in case Coutinho needs a rest or is injured. Lucky then that he's already ours.
