Lallana was lucky to out a string of 4-5 matches together & Markovic got bombed out by Rodgers after indifferent form. Tex could be 3rd or 4th pick in a heartbeat. I'd keep him till January & reassess then.Originally posted by Pablo View PostI'd say he's 6th in the pecking order:
Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana, Ibe, Markovic, Teixeira.
If he's happy to stay and battle for a spot ahead of that lot I'd happily let him, but at 22 I'd say he needs to play games and may want to go out on loan again.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

But we could play 3 of those at the same time if we play a 4-2-3-1 or similar probably with Coutinho, Firmino and Lallana starting, Ibe is likely to play wide as probably is Markovic, it could only take 1 or 2 injuries or suspensions for him to get a game. I imagine he will at least get cup games and a decent amount of minutes from the bench anyway.Originally posted by Pablo View PostI'd say he's 6th in the pecking order:

I hope he does get a chance. I think it's better to have him on the bench than someone who is out of form. That goes for all players. If a player is out of form, ditch him from the squad, keep the bench for hungry players.
Pretty much.
There are so many other players ahead of him in the packing order and I cannot see him being given a real chance to prove himself no matter how good he looks in the pre-season.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Liverpool: João Teixeira
It is testament to the Portuguese midfielder’s determination to force his way into Brendan Rodgers’ plans next season that he is involved in Liverpool’s tour of the Far East and Australia at all. The 22-year-old broke his leg on 14 April playing for Brighton and Hove Albion against Huddersfield Town. Twelve weeks later he was back in first-team training at Melwood and selected for the pre-season tour, on which he set up two goals against Thai All Stars on Tuesday. Teixeira, signed from Sporting Lisbon in 2013, made an impact on his Liverpool debut, a 3-2 win at Fulham during the team’s title-challenging season, but it was last season at Brighton where his adaptation to the English game gathered pace. The gifted midfielder scored six goals in 35 games under Sami Hyypia and his replacement, Chris Hughton, with his performances encouraging Rodgers’ belief that he would be worthy of inclusion in the Liverpool squad for the 2015-16 season. The leg break appeared to stall that opportunity, but it is back on already. AH

I'd have highr hopes if he was a couple of years younger. But at 22 and to be on the fringes isn't exactly the sign of a world beater. Been unlucky with injuries, but sometimes that is what can send a career in different directions.
I think he's got talent, but he will have to be exceptional in training to stick around.Forwards.......

I guess it depends how he sees himself/his career, if he sees himself as a regular 22 year old just on the fringes of the side, no doubt fairly soon he will be looking to move on for regular football. If however the injuries make him consider things in terms of where he is at in his development he's probably more like a 20 year old and might be prepared to wait a little longer to push on. I guess it is something the club and himself will need to manage effectively and be realistic about.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostI'd have highr hopes if he was a couple of years younger. i think he should give it another 6 months......if he isnt getting some minutes then he should be looking to make a move.
Players develop at different rates - he could end up being a brilliant player for 10 years for a team high in the league. It is also about taking his chance when he gets it.......injuries, suspensions and rotation for capital one / europa cup games should result in him getting a few chances.

It'll be interesting to see how we treat the Europa League in terms of the side we put out, we all know we have some tough away fixtures early in the season, but having looked at Europa League schedule and our fixtures it seems that we have been quite lucky in that we tend to have come off the back of a difficult game rather than we are going into one:Originally posted by frank the tank View Posti think he should give it another 6 months......if he isnt getting some minutes then he should be looking to make a move.

EL Group game 1 - 17/09/15 - After Man Utd (A) before Norwich (H)
EL Group game 2 - 01/10/15 - After Aston Villa (H) Before Everton (A)
EL Group game 3 - 22/10/15 - After Tottenham (A) before Southampton (H)
EL Group game 4 - 05/11/15 - After Chelsea (A) before Crystal Palace (H)
EL Group game 5 - 26/11/15 - After Man City (A) before Swansea (H)
EL Group game 6 - 10/12/15 - After Newcastle (A) before West Brom (H)
That at least means if we want to put a strong side out we should be able to and we at least always play in Liverpool after a European game in the group stage. I'm kind of torn as I would like us to do well in the EL as it's a trophy and there is a CL place available, but I would like to keep the first team fresh for the league and give some of the youngsters / squad players game time. But that said there are now relatively few players left in the side that have experienced many European nights at Anfield. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That is one way of looking at it......however if we lose some of those away games then the pressure will be huge to win our home games.....so it will possibly lead brendan to rest players anyway....
Also if we were to win some of those away games then we will still look to not make them wasted wins by dropping points against a norwich at home.
So for me, brendan might look to play a strong enough team in the home games of the europa league to get points but in all the away games i would be surprised....
Plus if we want to be an attraction for young players then we need to give them game time.
A team of Bogdan in goal, defense of Wisdom, Toure, Lovren, Gomez...midfield of Allen, Rossiter, Teixeria and front trio of Markovic, Ings and Origi would still leave a squad of;
Mignolet
Clyne Sakho Skrtrl Moreno flanagan
lucas henderson milner emreCan lallana
coutinho firmino
benteke sturridge ibe
(This is assuming balotelli borini and lambert will **** off)
Plus some of the europas could be on the bench.
The real problem for BR will be when the back up team do amazing and thebfirst team are doing ****e!!!
