The sum up, we don't know our budget, we don't know how much our other targets will cost and whether we will get them, we don't now that any fee for Butland would directly reduce our budget for other targets and we don't know who we might sell and for what price. And we don't know whether Carroll will come back. And we don't know how any of that might affect the wage bill. General comments about not spending loads of money by Rodgers doesn't change that. Equally, the order that we hear speculative rumours in does not necessarily equate to the relative priority of each transfer target to the club, or whether it is more or less likely to happen.

It makes more sense when we assess transfer rumours in terms of the quality and suitability of the players rather than the finances because we might just about know something about the footballimg side, maybe.

Right, fine, let's sign that Iniesta lad. He's dead good him.

When was the last time any of the teams around us spent £11m on a squad player?

I'm not sure we have a transfer budget as such. I think the thing the owners are most concerned with is the wage budget. And I don't bland them. Spurs pay nowhere near the wages we do and they have a far better squad of players.

And if we're being harsh, £120k a week on an under performing keeper doesn't make sense. But £25k a week on an upcoming keeper does.

Now people are blaming the tactics of Rodgers on the reason Pepe has dropped off. Well IMO he has been poor ever since Xavi Valero left.

But the reason he is poor makes no odds. And if it is the tactics of Rodgers at fault, are we not better getting in someone who can actually perform in those tactics? Especially when someone who can't is costing us a fortune.

I'm not sure Pepe is on the way out, or that we are bringing in Butland. But if it happens, I say we see what happens between now and the end of the season before we complain.

Too many people remember us smashing record transfer fees, but since we did that with Carroll, we should hardly be shocked at that

Hope this isn't ture. The last thing we need is to waste more millions on players we do not need when we apparently don't have alot of money anyway.

                    Just a thought:

People are suggesting we don't have the money to waste on a young player.

But it's key to cast our minds back to the summer. Then, we couldn't afford to pay a little extra for Dempsey and we missed out and he went too Spurs.

Yet at the same time, we were willing to meet the Chelsea asking price of £15m for Sturridge.

FSG have said it all along. There is no set budget. Each player will be judged on their own merits. Rodgers has not been given £20m and told to spend it however he likes.

He and the scouting team are asked to identify players and then go to them and explain why a player is worth the said amount.

Now of course, somewhere down the line there is a restriction on what can be spent. But I'm not sure we are anywhere near it. I think FSG will push the boat out for the right signings.

I have a feeling we have money to spend, we seem too desperate to get the message of being skint out there. FSG just don't want people to up the asking price to us as we have a history of overpaying

                        It's working a treat.

6m each for 2 prospects and 12m for a Chelsea reserve

I think vorm is available on a free at the end of the season. If Rodgers is still our manager he will be a target no doubt.

Reina will definitely leave imo. We've no chance of keeping him happy at Liverpool. He strikes me as being a player who likes to very much do his own thing and if you read about some of the movement patterns xavi Valero had him doing in training its very methodical.

He signed a new contract earlier this season.

you sure because I heard laudrup talking about him being in the final six months of his contract a couple of weeks ago.
