Sorry but that doesn't sit right with me he hasn't done anything to deserve what he's asking for
    from the bbc:
Aware of interest from other clubs and desperate to hang on to the services of their key player, Inter offered Sneijder a five-year contract worth £4.8m-a-season (6m euros), plus an £800,000 (1m euros) annual bonus.

thats nowhere near 200 k a week now, is it?

He's on alot more than that. The whole point is that they are trying to reduce his salary, thats why they are in dispute. They want him to take a wage cut or leave. Plus he would need to pay more tax over here so we would need to offer him massive wages

i wouldn't even buy him in football manager at that price.

              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

This is clearly not happening IMO, but nevertheless:

Was to be expected £8million bid for Wesley Sneijder made Livepool, Dutchman does not transfer to Galatasaray.

Dutch international Wesley Sneijder is expected to reject a move to Galatasaray, with a transfer to the Premier League a more attractive option for the playmaker.

The Turkish giants had a reported €10million (£8.2million) bid accepted by Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti last week but Sneijder did not agree to a move over the weekend despite Galatasaray director Bulent Tulun requesting a prompt response from the player.

According to a Turkish newspaper Sneijder can expect to earn €6million per year plus bonuses in Istanbul.

Moratti has urged Sneijder to make a decision by the end of the day.

“It would be professional if he would make his decision by the end of the day,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport today.

The Inter playmaker has told his agent his preference remains a move to England following spells in the Netherlands, Spain and Italy. Sneijder is willing to wait for the right move with over two weeks before the transfer window closes.

Reports in the Dutch press claimed Liverpool had made an £8million bid but this has been denied by the Merseyside club.

Wesley Sneijder has reportedly attracted the interest of Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham but the Premier League clubs have so far declined to make a move for the unsettled star due to his wage demands.

Due to his wages, if they are true I am not entirely sure who will be in for him - Manc's won't pay the wages, City don't really need him neither do Chelsea who are the two sides most likely to pay the wages, Arsenal won't break their pay structure for him and I can't see Spurs doing so either although if Bale does go that would free up space and cash to bring him in.

I'd love to see us take a gamble but I really, really cannot see us doing so

That's why United back away last year - he wanted £220K p/w (more than he's on in Italy to reflect our harsher tax I think) and United politely told him to **** right off.

I'd love us to take the gamble too but I'm not sure if FSG'S will agree he's worth the risk. We can but dream.

He maybe, but not at the wages he is asking for.

Not unless he took a wage cut.

Plus, again, I'm not convinced that he and Gerrard would work together in the same team.

No I agree a wage cut is in order first.

Said to Pablo before - anyone who could get Sneijder to agree to a wagecut big enough to allow either us or Spurs to afford him would be a negotiating genius.

He's a bit of a Bertie Big Bollocks so would take some convincing. Funny how only Galatasaray are interested and he couldn't give a **** about going there unless he absolutely has to.
