I didn't realise until Paul Tomkins said last night - over the last five seasons he's averaged 20 league games a season.

As the bloke said in Dumb and Dumber "So you're saying there's a chance?!" Would be a gamble but MAYBE worth it.

that big club thing isn't even true on the face of it. because the first thing on everyone's mind if it doesn't happen is that it's because we can't afford it. not sure why we'd do that to ourselves. help in other negotiations maybe? not to try and look rich, that's for sure.

This really happens? People buy additional shrits when we get a star signing? Blimey.

I do think it has an effect though, I'd think it works more subtly than that, similarly to aspirational advertising. When someone big signs, more people get more excited about the coming season for the team, so more people want to buy into it and be seen as associated with it in some way.
I must be on my own then. I definitely go through that thought process (and every time I decide that I don't want a name and number on my shirt).

I guess my point is that collerating shirt sales with marquee signings is a pretty inexact science to the point that proving any sort of direct relationship must be approaching impossible.
                Oh I don't know.

                    It's clearly fake.

Nono, it definitely came from his account but it looks as though his account was either hacked or being operated by someone other than himself. There were a few tweets that were quickly deleted.

A few journos saw it appear live on JWH's feed so unless they're lying (why would they?) it's not a fake, just a hack. Anyway who cares, it wasn't him and that's that.

                            Yup.

To be honest, I wish it had have been him just having a laugh at all the dickheads who think it's a good idea to send him tweets telling him what to do.

even if he did say it, it's clearly a joke and quite a funny one too. He might have deleted it himself as there are alot of folk who can't see the funny side.
