To be fair, £15m seems to be what he is valued at. Liked what little I've seen of him and 12-18 months ago I would have said he was a perfect replacement for Gerrard. Unsure whre he would fit into the team/formation now???

He'd replace Downing or Henderson.
The way I see it, whoever replaces Henderson needs to have mobility and physicality because they are going to have to press and also do some leg work for Gerrard and Lucas and whoever replaces Downing needs to be able to play in a wide position and have the pace to carry the ball up field quickly.

Of course both of the above would be negated if we held a high defensive line because pushing the defence closer to the midfield would have it easier for the entire team to press the opposition and with the defence high up the pitch there would be no need to carry the ball up the pitch quickly.

If we have 3 attacking starters in Sturridge, Suarez and Coutinho then adding Eriksen would take one of the midfield 3 slots meaning the 16m Henderson and 15m Allen would benched.

We need a squad....there will be plenty of games to go around... I think both Allen and Henderson will be important players for us in the next couple of years.....but there is always room in the squad for top players.....and Eriksen is a top player
