So have lots of other footballers.

Anyway, as I said, I don't rate him as a footballer, and I can't stand the celebrity circus he has built around himself.

What he's like as a person I haven't comented on.
    Oh I don't know.

So donating quite a bit to charity or even setting some up is no substance?

But we are not talking about other footballers are we?

          Edited my answer.

He may well be a lovely generous person.

I just don't rate him as a footballer, and I can't stand the celebrity circus he has built around himself.

The Circus around him is horrible, as is the circus around all football. He didnt start it, but he certainly exploited it to the fullest in years gone by.

However, I dont really feel like he has done it as much over the last few years. He pops up here and there, seemed to have a role in getting the Olympics to Britain, has been a figurehead of sorts too.

Players like Adrian Mutu or Garry O'Connor are far more worthy of derision from me.

I have just had a quiet word with myself. Defending multi millionaire David Beckham....

Maybe, but those players aren't even on my radar as they're not continously thrust into my face.

I just can't stand celebrity culture, and he has taken it to a new level for a sports person. Basically, I see him as a corporate / media whore.

You don't have to agree with me.
                Oh I don't know.

When shall we expect the film then?

Bound to be one made eventually.

He's been a great ambassador. Not sure I'd call him a great footballer

I think he was. At least during his time at Man Utd.

It's all semantics but I'd describe him as very good. Not a great, not brilliant, but very good.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Wasn't a great player by any means. Great right peg and that's about it. Very pro establishment / conservative. Likes the queen and all that jizz.

                            He's a good egg.

One of the best crossers of the ball there's ever been.

Not a truly world class player but he's had an incredible career.
