Not for me, its ridiculous and he's pretty much just going for a pay day he won't be playing CL football again until he's 28 and he'll have turned 29 if they get out the group stages which might be difficult given their seeding.

I think when he says other sides didn't moan about Monaco's taxation advantage before their new wealthy owner came along, he was more talking about when Monaco were winning the league, getting to a champs league final etc.

Even still its not comparable is it? Imagine if Lyon or PSG piped up back then for example. Imagine how embarrassing of an excuse that would have been considering the situation, they weren't benefiting massively over the rest of the league and were still behind the likes of Marseille, Lyon and PSG in terms of what the could make in revenue.

If the rumors are true about his 3rd party ownership I don't think he has chosen where he has played since he was in South America.

Yeah, someone explained it pretty well a week or so back, it's almost nigh on impossible for a club in England to afford him due to the rules about 3rd party ownership and the buying out of his contract.

Atletico would get very little from any potential sale of him no matter where he goes.

Those are only transfer fees and that doesn't take wages taken into consideration, which would be massive.

Exactly, they only will when they make it to Europe. I guess they might have a shot this season coming, but even if they make it next year, it will only be counted in their final year of accounts.

Monaco need to grow, and grow rapidly, its the only way to get around the penalties. Even then the first few stages of penalty are reasonably pointless. So they have a little time to catch up.
