Money seems to be going on Martinez to Everton like a tidal wave.
      Hello mert.

Is he out of contract? I'm sure he'd like to try, but they're absolutely skint aren't they!

I'm not saying he's a terrible manager, he's been ok for Wigan, but I often see him listed as one of the most promising young managers in the game, and I see very little evidence of that personally.
Got to agree Pablo. I've said similar quite a few times. Yes he talks well. But his teams constantly fight relegation. There have been promoted teams come up and achieved a lot more, probably with worse teams and squads. I was gutted at the thought last summer that we'd end up with him.

Likes of Rory Smith were mocking Rodgers last summer and calling Martinez great. I just don't see it to be honest.

I dont buy the easy run to the final argument. Its the same as saying we fluked the Champions League. They played and beat everything that was in front of them.

Dont think he sacrificed the league either. Wigan hardly brought anyone this year, especially compared to the teams around them.

Think you are being slightly harsh on the guy. Mind you, I have professed my love for him before solely based on the fact he pronounced 'Club' the same way Rafa does.....'Cloob'

I would have preferred Everton listened to Kendall and gave the job to Stubbs and Ferguson

That, imo, is exactly where he will go.

has a win percentage at Wigan under 30% sure I read its worse than the previous managers. All this talk of he plays decent football, might as well have keegan in charge for the amount he concentrates on his defense.

Having said that he has obviously made manageed to get a lot of players that didn't do well elsewehere such as Maloney and Mcmanaman,

I think he did very well with limited resources and supposedly the almost constant need to trim the wage bill. We'll see how good he is in his next job I suspect. Everton would be a really tough job for him in my opinion as only about two of the playing staff look suited to his way of playing.

How can you not buy it? What's not to buy? They played mostly **** teams. They got lucky with that. It happens.

Incidentally we didn't get an easy run when we won the Champions League either, quite the opposite in fact. We thumped Leverkusen (who'd just topped Real Madrid's group), Juventus, Chelsea (under Mourinho), and then an extremely strong Milan side. It baffles me how anyone can say we fluked it. It's just sour grapes.

Yeah I see what you mean mate.

It's really difficult to judge how good Martinez is as a manager. His teams play good football, he speaks well and he spends next to no money. However he's had Wigan constantly battling relegation over the last few years and they've finally gone. It'll be interesting to see how he does at Everton.

I can understand the Fergie wankfest on SSN, but the Martinez wankfest they're doing now is ridiculous. Yes, he won the FA Cup, but that shouldn't mean anything. Nottingham Forest have won two Champions Leagues, for **** sake. He's just been relegated, yet being rated as one of the country's best. Jesus christ. I hope he goes to Everton, and I hope they go down.

Wigan out to 12/1 to win the Championship next season.

                            Not terrible odds really.

More value in the 28/1 to get relegated imo.
