Bottom line is that we have to trust the scout "group" to provide the type of player BR wants. So far they have not done anything to make me doubt their ability..

FWIW I do not believe that finance is an issue, Arn there are several ways to skin a cat and throwing money at some top mercenaries is one way, the other way is astutely buying the next superstars at 21 for £7-15 m and hope that BR can gel them into a team with his philosophies to compete with a bunch of overpaid prima donnas.

That could take a few more seasons of small improvements, meanwhile, the new gecko eyed ginge finance gal can work on Anfield revival/rebuild and either borrow at historically low interest rates or sponsorship or combo of both without bankrupting the club. Remember we almost got there ..

My guess is FSG are determined to stick to this plan for now.

Last season showed progress, it wasn't huge but we changed the face of the club recently, out went the likes of Maxi, Kuyt and Bellamy and in came Coutinho, Sturridge and now Alberto and Mignolet. We are clearly after young players will room for improvement and that are capable of being sold on for profit down the line. Having players on big wages and them leaving at the end of their career for pennies is not sustainable for a club in our position, over time we'll get better off the pitch but right now we are where we are.

Small step forwards isn't enough. Our best players will almost certainly leave if we don't play in the CL.

So we would be used as a stepping stone.

Qualifying for the CL as soon as possible is a must, no ifs or buts, we must do that as soon as possible.

Short term is at the moment much more important than long term.

We would be the new Arsenal but without CL football. Arsenal is on the way to change their transfer and wage strategy because they found out that it didn't work.

It is just weird that I get singled out when many other fans do the same as me. They post their opinions time and time again, just like me.

I think (and this is intended to sound helpful as I appreciate I've probably thrown in some low blows of late) its because you have been somewhat dominating conversations of late. I don't know if its on purpose but it seems like every comment on here by any poster that has a semblance of positivity about it is twisted to "the club is ****" or "our transfer policy is ****" or "our wage structure is ****" or "Ayre has no right to be conducting transfers as he isn't Cryuff" and then "Ayre should be sacked". It's incessant and is sooooooo negative (and I get you're not on a wind up but for me sorta kills the positivity of the place).

Half baked theories are all fair and good. It was what the internets were built on but even the craziest of crazies adds a bit of sunshine occasionally. So take this as an apology for any pelters I've thrown at you but for the love of dog cheer up!!!!! It is what it is. It'll take time to rebuild. That's life.

I know that it takes time to rebuild but that also means that is very difficult to be positive because it probably means no CL football the next couple of years.

I didn't create the world. It is a sad state out there. Gread totally dominates.

I hate that money totally dominates football. We talk more about money than system and tactics.

I want to go back to old days when you just talked about football and not money.

Money is destroying football. Even a country that you can't play football in in the summer got the WC. It is to dangerous because the players can't cope.
