    Expect him to join Spurs.

You mean the "Economic Summit" he was supposed to attend in Brazil? the very same place the Confeds cup is taking place and half the world's football sponsors are throwing mega-jollies for all the grown-ups and beautiful people?

Maybe he was told by his secretary that he wasn't actually ****ing invited.

        Lucescu resigned to losing Mkhitaryan

Shakhtar Donetsk coach, Mircea Lucescu, has admitted that it is possible that Henrikh Mkhitaryan could leave the club this summer if his buyout clause is met. Liverpool have been heavily linked with the Armenian international over the past few weeks and it would appear as though Lucescu is resigned to losing the coveted midfielder, who scored some 25 league goals last season.

‘In the past, players were brought in over my head and this was not a good situation. I have to choose a player to buy from at least 20, so we are very careful not to create an imbalance. Now I have to think about Mkhitaryan, because it’s possible that he could leave. If there is a team who pays his buyout clause then there is nothing we can do, we must seek another … Look at Fernandinho I sold him for €40m, but I believe that this player was the best in the world his job!’

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: Liverpool want Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder

By Phil '****' McNulty, Chief football writer

Liverpool are pushing ahead with plans to make Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan their major summer signing.

The 24-year-old is understood to have a £20m release clause in his contract with Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.

Liverpool have indicated they are willing to meet that figure.

Anfield officials are aware there may be competition for Mkhitaryan, who scored 25 league goals for Shakhtar last season, but are optimistic he can be persuaded to move to Liverpool.

Manager Brendan Rodgers sees Mkhitaryan, who has also been linked with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund, as a key element of his plans to add extra firepower to his side next season.

Liverpool are also in discussions with Sunderland for goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

They have offered £8m and, while Sunderland are currently holding out for £10m, the move is fully expected to go through.

Rodgers has also signed Manchester City defender Kolo Toure and a deal in principle for Celta Vigo forward Iago Aspas has been announced.

Can't help but feel this fella is being bought with the Suarez transfer money.

Same feeling about Mignolet being bought with the Reina transfer money.

Getting our players in before we sell to avoid being ripped off further. Makes sense IMO.

As far as I can see, it's the most straightforward and sensible explanation.

But I expect the reality is that it's because Bale cheats and because Suárez will score 20,000 goals in Uruguay's next match and because Ian Ayre's trousers keep falling down in the middle of negotiations and because Spurs don't have any scouts and because Man United "do their business" without any fuss and because Rafa...

Bascombe and one or two other good sources insist the Mkhitaryan deal is not dependent on Suarez. Think the Carroll money will pay for most of it.
