For all this alleged dominance they got beat right? As far as I recall they scored from a set piece and another when a set piece wasn't properly cleared and came back in again to the defender who got the first. Not much damage from open play there

What about the away game? We concede two soft goals very early and then spend 75 minutes camped on the edge of their box and completely battered them. How we lost will remain a mystery. Didn't see much of their amazing midfield in that game did we? Our midfield walked through theirs at will

How is it overrating when they finish above us in the league constantly?

Spurs are a better team than us at the minute.

This is why we need players like HM to make us start to improve dramatically.

Rodgers bought very well in Jan, making up somewhat for the summer mess. However, we need some big signings to improve us and make us get closer to those above us.

If we lose Suarez also it becomes even more important.

Big signings does not mean some lad who did well in the Spanish 2nd division and a guy who has sat on PSGs bench for most of the season.

I am desperate for us to pull this one off just so I can see my beloved club playing with the big boys again transfer wise.

Well, so far we have bought quantity that may become quality.

Not a single player that you for sure can say will improve the starting XI.

If that's aimed at me, I was making light of the fact that people thought Newcastle were a better team than us because they made a couple of decent cheap signings. Whilst I disagree, I can see why people can argue that Spurs are better.

IN response to why they consistently are finishing above us, I would argue that United consistently finish above teams that have better players than them IMO. Individually I don't think the Spurs players are any better than ours, certainly not to the extent that others make out, but off the pitch we have been a shambles for years and that has had a massive impact on the pitch.

If they keep Bale, I am pretty confident we will finish above them and for interest would offer a £20 bet with loser paying the winnings to the site. F*ck, it I'll offer the bet regardless to the first taker?

I'd argue that Aspas may be an improvement on Downing and that Toure will be an improvement on an empty squad number as the previous position holder has retired. We've also shifted Carroll as well as giving ourselves many other possibilities, no?

And how many signings have been made by our competitors? Bit early to be so spectacularly hysterical. Maybe wait until the end of August before you start drinking your own piss and telling everyone that the sky is falling in.

All positive thusfar from club and the negatives are beyond their control.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Yeah I'm prepared to give BR & his scouting team the benefit of the doubt regarding the signings. They've got 4 targets in early doors which will give them time to settle with a full pre season under there belts a real advantage. 2 Spanish flair players that hopefully will settle & add to our attacking play. We've replaced a legend with another experienced pro & we've got it covered if Pepe decides to walk. All positive as far as I can see

I agree with everything there, add to that we'll have Coutinho and Sturridge from the start, the younger players more experienced and Allen injury free, plus we aren't finished signing players. It'll be a tough task to get fourth, fifth even but I think we'll be figting for those places at least.
                        * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

It's a sad state of affairs that we are in a battle to get 5th. Still, that's the reality

mourinho favours a 433 which means he needs at least another 3 midfielders to add to Ramires if Mikel does leave. Their squad is imbalanced in that they have a lot of creative players like mata, hazard, Marin, oscar, moses etc but not enough players to do the dirty work.

You're right in that he will go for at least one top class striker but I think mourinhos priority will be central midfield.
