WTF? Really?? I'm being serious here, we spent £50m net?

Yup. Kinda makes a mockery of the people bashing FSG for not putting their hands in their pocket.

Getting £5,456,000 for Charlie Adam was incredible too.

Wow, hadn't realised it was that much. Is it possible that Suarez might be staying now and we need to shift some squad players out before we make this purchase? We need to push Shelvey and Jay out and even throw Downing with them and finalise a deal for Reina as well, that plus the Ince deal could give us maybe close to 20 million, hell we might even need to shift more players to make the Mkhitaryan deal.
                  * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

                    The Ukrainian Telegraph

Henrik Mkhitaryan will lose in the "Miner" 90% of salary

Henrik Mkhitaryan can return to the "Miner", but will lose 50% to 90% of salary.
The best scorer of the championship of Ukraine 2012/2013 - Armenian midfielder Henrik Mkhitaryan - could return to his team, Donetsk "Shakhtar" and resume training, - said the head coach Mircea Lucescu miners.

As we have already mentioned, Lucescu has officially announced that as yet nothing terrible has happened, and football player still has the opportunity to return to his football family after a prolonged vacation.

The reasons for the lack of Henrik Mkhitaryan at training camp, "Miner" is still unclear. In this issue fundamentally hear the words of the Mkhitaryan. But, at the same time, it is important to note: in any case, the Armenian football player broke the rules of conduct in his club. If you believe the Brazilian edition of UOL Esporte, which in January 2013 announced a "secret document", telling about the system of penalties in the "Miner", it appears that Henrik Mkhitaryan faces a fine of 50% to 90% of the monthly salary.

Henrik Mkhitaryan case falls under the phrase "Being late for training camp." Recall that being late to training camp after the rest of the national teams and matches are punishable by deprivation of 50% of the monthly salary. In that case, if the situation persists, football will lose 90% of salary. If a player does not warn you that there is no team in training - is deprived of 20% of salary. In case of repetition of the incident will give the football club to 40% of monthly earnings. The paper fines does not say how to punish a player who is not in the team for a long time. As you know, the Armenian midfielder had to return to the location of the team on June 23,. It turns out Mkhitaryan "skipped" for 8 days.

According to unofficial data, the reason for the absence of Henrik Mkhitaryan on the collection of "Shakhtar" can be not only that talks about a transfer from Dortmund "Borussia", but also dissatisfaction with the salary football team. According to the source, at the moment salary Henrik Mkhitaryan in the Champion of Ukraine is one million euros per year, which coincides with the salary Alan Patrick, and less than half the income of Yaroslav Rakytskyy or Dario Srna.

I reckon we could sell Downing, Spearing and Henderson (I don't want Henderson sold btw).

If Downing matches his improvement season to season then he'll be pretty useful next season. Henderson's going to be a cracking player, he shouldn't be sold under any circumstances as I think he has 10-15 goals a season in him if played regularly. Spearing should go though, he's just not up to it IMO

There's no rush to complete the deal anyway.

We're not a stinking rich club as far as I'm aware, I think it definitely plausible that Henry coming in would be a result of Suarez going

Not saying that is the case, but I don't think it sounds unreasonable

£16.7m for Joe ****ing Allen is unreasonable

I don't think anyone blames them for not doing that. If they don't continue to spend big then we won't have a chance so we should have at least a £50m net transfer budget. We may not spend all of it but that kind of money must be available.

The new TV deal make a £50m net transfer budget realistic.

IMO the interest free loan will be paid back this summer. That is why we may not spend that big this summer.

                                IIRC the loan is €30m.
