G, are you suggesting Dortmund got involved because they heard media reports about us being interested? I'm struggling to see how the media rumours make any difference at all to this, apart from setting the expectations of fans who read too much into speculationTrey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

We may only be a few days into the window but not a single club will sell one of their best players the last couple of weeks of the window.
That means that it is very little time to sort out a deal for another top class player.
As already been mentioned, it don't take a week or two to sort out a deal for a top class player if you don't offer a massive amount of money.Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

No Spurs do thatOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostG, are you suggesting Dortmund got involved because they heard media reports about us being interested?
No I'd just like us to get deals done under wraps,as was pointed out by someone with the Shelvey deal,2 days and done.I'm sure there was negotiating done before they lodged their bid regarding acceptable fee's but we never heard about it. The first time deals should hit the news is when the negotiating is over and we know what the club will accept. We then make that bid and it becomes public knowledge.
I'm not sure how realistic that is these days though and maybe every other club is having the same issues as us regarding leaks.

Just to be clear I do not hold a grudge against Ayre nor do I think this is a sackable offence!

There's just as many good players though...
My only question is, are we really looking to spend something in the region of £20m - £30m for a top player without selling our own.
