We will never find out the truth. The player will as usual say that the club he signed for was his first choice even if it wasn't.

So who can we believe when we can't believe the player? He may or may not tell the truth.

I read the Suarez thread and could not believe all the people making up different scenarios as to why Arsenal put in a 30mil bid for him. Could it not be that Arsenal wanted to test the water with what the considered a serious bid rather than all the conspiracies people were making up?
Then opened this thread and thought you could put the same arguments about all the players were after. I've had a **** day at work and it just got to me all the crap that's made up.....

He looked an interesting,outside the box signing but I really can't help but think a few got a bit carried away with how good he actually is. It will be amusing to see just how he fares next season.

Yeah but I think it's a bit disingenious that Karlton doesn't mention why we stalled on the deal. Either he doesn't know, or he does but doesn't want to say. Either way it fuelled this sell Suarez to buy Henrikh debate. And that is rubbish in my opinion.

I suspect there is huge difference between the bollox and drama of twitter compared with the reality of what happened.

I suspect we scouted him properly (just like Dortmund) we matched the buy out clause (just like Dortmund)

The player chose Dortmund - lifestyle, CL football etc.

The reasons could be more sinister than just player choice.

1. Liverpool couldn't/wouldn't buy out the alleged 3rd party owner so therefore can not buy him (UK law?). I still don't know if the Bundesliga allow 3rd party ownership or if Dortmund faced this issue.

2. Was there an extra "payment" made of top of normal agent fees? From my limited knowledge, German football has been known to be very generous when it suits so it can't be ruled out. Maybe Liverpool wouldn't entertain the agent to the extent he demanded thus upsetting the toad enough to restrict our efforts to speak to the player.

3. Some or all of the above.
