    Eóin - Valencia News ‏@XimoVCF 5m
Reports in Valencia from @ElPartitdeR9 and @FranGuaita. Tottenham have contacted Salvo. Seems like they're willing to pay €30m for Soldado.

        So, to older broad.
        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

So far we've fallen behind Spurs rather than catch them up, we need to do something.

Best to start by chilling out....we dont want start panic buying because we have an inferiority complex.

We were obviously behind them, see the league table last few years.

They've added a very good CM in Paulinho and if true they're adding a good striker in Soldado, in fact he's pretty much the perfect type of striker for them. Yes they'd be overpaying but its their weakest area.

So far we've added Mignolet who may or may not be an improvement on Reina and Aspas will probably be the only other starter.

I just hope we have something else lined up because unless we do I don't see how we can catch up, baring a lot of luck.

I think we will do well in the window.

Whos to say Aspas wont be as good or better then Soldado? Would you rather have Paulinho or Coutinho?

1 or 2 big signings added to what we have and i think we will surprise a few.

                    Chin up.

That's the key. if we sign 1 or 2 big namesas it is right now, we could be in the race for 4th spot but I'd prefer to see a it more ambition in the TW. Unfortunately players aren't wanting to come due to no European competitions this year.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

                        We dont know that mate.

We lost on a signing to the champions league runners up which i dont think anyone can have a problem with.

We don't but what we do know is Soldado is a proven goalscorer and Aspas is more of an unknown quantity, although I think he'll do well.

Coutinho/Paulinho I really don't get this point? 2 different players and we signed Coutinho in January.

My only point is, if we go into the season and nobody makes anymore signings (if spurs get soldado) I think its fairly logical to say we're short again this year.

I think that's all anyone can realistically say.

I'm definitely not concerned about the effects of us not signing him, and those of Spurs signing him. He is a good player, but not a great one and for that fee it is actually insane. He does have a good scoring ratio and works hard, but he has limitations. He misses a lot of chances, and goes on huge droughts, I remember a couple of seasons ago he went something like 3 months without scoring. His stats looked good because he scored 4 goals, then a brace or something like that, however in that season he was largely outplayed by Aduriz. Obvously scoring hatricks isn't a bad thing, but when you consider he'll often get more than 1 when he gets on the scoresheet shows how long he can sometimes go without finding the net. A large percentage of his goals will also be penalties (they don't inflate his numbers as much as some (Falcao) but it still makes a big difference).

His all around play is pretty average and he is a big moaner when it comes to refs. Picks up several cards a season for complaining.

He is a good goalscorer and he's currently in his prime, but the fees being mentioned are insane. Considering the price of Soldado and Negredo, we did some very good business for Aspas. Especially as I'm sure Valencia or Sevilla would've picked him up now as a replacement if he were still available. However, we can't really compare them at this stage as Soldado and Negredo have been consistently playing and scoring in top flight football. Aspas had a great season in Segunda and did well last season, one would expect that making the step up to Liverpool should make give him the opportunity to perform better and improve - propelling himself into the Soldado/Negredo level.

Looks like this can be moved to General Football....going to Spurs it seems. £26m is a **** load of money for him.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
