To be fair, Everton were terrible. They showed us very little.

It confuses me how a player who has so little ability on the ball can make it at the highest level. Surely we scout player over a long period, and use other resources to judge how good a player actually is. This is not the 1980s. We have computers and forums where you can quite easily check to gauge a players worth to a team, in addition to the statistical services available.

I have nothing against the guy, but he is clearly a great athlete over a great footballer. Perhaps he is the best we could find of who was available.

I'm perfectly happy to have Enrique in the squad as back up LB. Definitely need an upgrade in that position though.

Agree Enrique has his limitations, although I do have a soft spot for him. I'd move heaven and earth to get Luke Shaw though in the Summer. It looks like we'll be outgunned for that one, but he'd be a huge signing for us long term. We should hopefully have Champions League football to attract him then (and hopefully United won't) so it's worth a shot.

Didn't we make a quick buck on Kromkamp, then buy Arbeloa (who I rate as our best fullback of the past ten years).

I still put Traore as the worst ever.

he was fully behind the rodgers stance of "we won't buy squad fillers just for the sake of it" which yeah i do agree with

however, what my arguements, surely somewhere there is a better left back than cissokho that we could get - there has to be

i actually feel sorry for him cause he just has this look on his face that says "what the **** am i doing here"

I think we have done a piss poor job with our signings for squad roles in the last few years. Top signings have worked well but the likes of Cissokho have been a waste and we would have gained more playing Wisdom, Robinson, whoever in one of the fullback roles.

So on that basis I hope we don't try and get any squad players. However in the long run I think we need to get better at buying and developing players to fill out a squad with genuine tactical options and decent back up players.
