i was a bit puzzled with that substitution. didn't seem to add a lot going forward or backward.
i don't blame him, he was thrown on out of position, but i can't really say i've got any sort of better idea whether he will turn out well for us after today.
eager to see him play in his position.dave of mutilation

I'm not sure if BR sees him as just a LB. maybe he wants to see how versatile he is?Originally posted by little dave hedgehog View Posti was a bit puzzled with that substitution. didn't seem to add a lot going forward or backward.

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Think the idea was just that Weimann was getting some success down that flank and BR wanted some cover for Enrique, plus some extra width, and Cissokho offered more solidarity defensively and aerially than Sterling. It contributed to disrupting our shape but we got out unscathed so that's all well and good.
Really difficult to read anything into Cissokho's showing for himself, given all the mitigating circumstances. That said, I was definitely pleased to see him make that marauding run down the left in the final ten minutes or so when we were under heavy pressure, in which he beat a man or two. Get the feeling he enjoys a good rampage forward down the flank with a full head of steam. Offers something different than Enrique in that respect, who tends to be more varied in how he gets involved in the attack.
