We had been linked to him for so many windows in a row

Is he an LFC fan or is that just how it worked out?

Decent cameo from him today on his debut, showed good speed and strength and offered a bit more protection down the left.

i was a bit puzzled with that substitution. didn't seem to add a lot going forward or backward.

i don't blame him, he was thrown on out of position, but i can't really say i've got any sort of better idea whether he will turn out well for us after today.

eager to see him play in his position.

Nice glimpse of what he's about. Hope he doesn't play next week

I agree, it was a strange sub and I'm no clearer if he can slot in and make the LB position his own or not.

It does show that we do need some quality on the left side going forwards though, I think pretty much everywhere else looks covered at the moment bar that area of the pitch

You would expect he'll get 90 in the league cup on Tuesday in his natural position

I'm not sure if BR sees him as just a LB. maybe he wants to see how versatile he is?

Think the idea was just that Weimann was getting some success down that flank and BR wanted some cover for Enrique, plus some extra width, and Cissokho offered more solidarity defensively and aerially than Sterling. It contributed to disrupting our shape but we got out unscathed so that's all well and good.

Really difficult to read anything into Cissokho's showing for himself, given all the mitigating circumstances. That said, I was definitely pleased to see him make that marauding run down the left in the final ten minutes or so when we were under heavy pressure, in which he beat a man or two. Get the feeling he enjoys a good rampage forward down the flank with a full head of steam. Offers something different than Enrique in that respect, who tends to be more varied in how he gets involved in the attack.

We should get to see a bit more of him vs Notts but pleased to see his arrival & hope he does well.

Hey ho, so much for LB cover then.
