**** knows why he took that job, he seemed to have a decent reputation. Money and confidence in his ability I guess but it doesn't take a genius to look at that squad and see they have no goals and not one competent player. They'll obviously change a lot in the summer but that current squad could see them relegated from the championship aswell I reckon, it's that bad.

He's said before he thought he would get to make transfers in January. Given how crap they were (and have continued to be) any improvement would have been a good calling card as a manager in the PL. As it is he has been paid for several months and suffered no reputational damage as everyone knew the team were useless when he got there.

They need the sort of top to bottom changes that Norwich and Southampton managed at the expense of multiple relegations. Think they have the core of a good championship side (based around getting the ball to Gestede's head) there if they appoint an experienced manager at that level. However, doing that is not the best way to build for PL success.
