Juve vs Atalanta - First time I've ever seen common sense prevail with VAR. Ball blatantly hit Alex Sandro's hand (possibly Barzagli's too) but his back was turned and it was a complete accident. No pen given, even after the ref re-evaluating it. Gives me a little bit of hope moving forward, but I feel this is the exception, not the rule.

It all comes down to the person reviewing it, there will be massive inconsistencies from game to game, which in a way makes it worse than what we have now.

Indeed, but I watch Serie A and La Liga quite extensively. It seems 90% of the time, officials are looking for reasons to give as many pens/yellow cards as possible in these situations.
