The 25-year-old’s contract with current club Dnipro expires at the end of the month, and he has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League having seen his January deadline day transfer to Livepool fall through at the eleventh hour.

But according to the Stoke Sentinel, the Ukraine international is on the cusp of making the switch to England after reaching an agreement with Stoke following months of negotiations.

Konoplyanka is likely to have been offered a substantial wage package given that he was understood to be on £100,000-a-week at Dnipro, but that cost would be offset by the fact that he’s available as a free agent.
