Sorry, I was being a little sarcastic :P - personally I had no love for it.
I believe Sky had the rights to 10 Friday slots and showed 3, maybe 4 of them so I think that suggests it probably wasn't popular in the wider view than the clubs involved. I only watched the one that Liverpool were involved in. I think Friday and Saturday lates are pointless. Most people will already be doing stuff with friends/family/partners so it will have limited appeal for people to give up even more of their day to football. Saturday afternoon/evening fine but I suspect most people want a break from the sport at some point of the week
Total overkill but not surprising. They should just give the FA a slice of the tv deal money and lift the no live footy on tele at 3pm on a Saturday rule.

I liked having football to watch on a Friday, the format was ridiculous though.
